Seed & Learn
In rural communities across Africa, young people particularly from low income backgrounds, face exclusions in all its form and constructs. In particular, lack of or poor access to quality education, especially among the poorest and among girls, is preventing millions of people from escaping the cycle of extreme poverty and living to their fullest potential.
This program seeks to provide SOL Pads for girls (reusable/washable sanitary pads) to school going girls in rural communities. Most girls miss school during their menses, others sit on small piles of dirt while others use old and tattered pieces of rags while on their menses because they can’t afford to buy sanitary pads. This program seeks to restore dignity among rural girls, reduce their absenteeism from school caused by their menses and boost their competitiveness in school.
The program further provides school tuition & fees, purchase of school uniforms and school supplies to the poor and vulnerable school going children.
We believe in the power of education to help end poverty in rural communities in Kenya. We work to give children the education they need and fight the inequalities that stand in their way.
We partner with remote and rural community schools to provide vital basic skills. Our unique approach then helps parents and teachers to create sustainable, effective schools and to nurture their children's learning and community development.
Objectives of the Program
